We are excited to announce that Ann Garrido is returning for Summer of 2021!
We Are Not the Same People: Attending to Relationships in This New Season (workshop style - 90 min)
To make space for engaging conversation, this session has a registration cap of 25 participants.

After the past year that we have endured, many of us are eager to “get back to normal.”  But as we return for a new school year, we are also aware that we return as different people than we were before.  We’ve grown accustomed to different ways of working and interacting.  Many of us return bruised and exhausted.  Some of us have suffered tremendous losses.  How do we honor Sophie’s deep commitment to attending to relationships at this particular moment in our schools’ histories?  Join in a conversation with other Sacred Heart educators to discuss how we have changed and communications practices that can help us be gentle with one another in this new season.

Redeeming Administration 2021 (workshop style - 2 hours)
To make space for engaging conversations, this session has a registration cap of 25 participants.

In writing her 2013 book Redeeming Administration, Ann Garrido talked with hundreds of administrators in Catholic education, health care, social services, and diocesan ministries to ask how their work as administrators was impacting their spiritual lives.  She identified twelve common themes that surfaced in these conversations.  Who, though, could have anticipated this past year as an administrator?!  Join Ann for an opportunity to reflect with other Sacred Heart administrators on your experiences of learning and growing spiritually since the beginning of the pandemic.  Which of the original twelve themes still ring true?  What more do we need to add to the conversation around administrative spirituality?

#Rules_of_Engagement: Showing Up Our Best Selves on Social Media (Keynote - 1 hour)
This keynote session will feature Ann Garrido and will allow time for chat Q&A at the end of the session. Registration is limited to 100 participants.

Social media has become part of everyday life—providing a way to connect with others and share stories of interest.  But it also, of course, has its dangers.  It has become home to cyberbullying, fake news, “echo chambers.”  Overuse has been connected with decreased mental and physical health.  For educators, social media also presents some very particular questions around professional vs. personal boundaries—questions for which there are no easy answers.  Ann Garrido will share eight commitments all persons on social media can make to foster a more healthy environment online, opening up discussion around the specific challenges educators face when engaging these new platforms.

Price
$20.00 / per registrant
