Roots that Give Us Wings

Roots is a program for members of your school community to build on the heritage of our Founding Mothers (Sophie and Philippine) and the history, traditions, spirituality, and pedagogy of Sacred Heart education. This is an excellent orientation opportunity for faculty, staff and administrators and a time to connect with the broader Network of Sacred Heart Schools in Canada and the United States.

Dates: June 16 - June 18, 2022

Housing: Embassy Suites, Saint Charles Convention Center, Two Convention Center Plaza, Saint Charles, MO. It is convenient to historic downtown Saint Charles and there is a free shuttle and trolley service. Each attendee will pay the program fee and will have option of single or double rooms at $150.00 per night, per room.

Once registered the attendees hotel reservations will be made by the Network Office.

Travel Planning: The hotel is a 10 –15-minute ride from the airport. Taxis, Uber and Lyft are all available as are rental car facilities. You are responsible to get to and from the hotel and airport, but all other transportation will be provided.

Fees: $200 program fee + $150 (plus taxes) per room, per night, hotel charge

    The objective of Lent is transformation, and the word in scripture used for this kind of transformation is metanoia. While the Greek word is typically translated as “repentance,” the word implies regret or remorse, and a decision to move forward to a space where one experiences a change in one's very core.

Schools of the Sacred Heart share in the educational mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart as articulated in the Goals and Criteria. The structure supporting Sacred Heart education in Canada and the United States includes the Conference of Sacred Heart Education and the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.  Together they provide services and programs to ensure vitality of mission for the member schools sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart.
