About Sacred Heart Education
The 25 Schools of the Sacred Heart in the United States and Canada find unity in a shared mission articulated in the Goals and Criteria. To ensure the vitality of mission, the structure supporting Sacred Heart education includes the Network of Sacred Heart schools and the Conference of Sacred Heart Education.
The Network operates as an association of 25 Catholic independent schools acting in cooperation with the USC Province of the Society of the Sacred Heart to advance a shared mission. The schools are represented by the heads and board chairs and the province is represented by the Provincial Team. The members elect the Board, which appoints the Network Executive Director who is responsible to ensure services and programs for students and educators. Programs promote creative education and leadership framed by the Goals and Criteria for Sacred Heart Schools in the United States-Canada.
The primary purpose of the Conference is to animate fidelity to mission as the most effective means of invigorating Sacred Heart education for the future. The Head of Conference facilitates the work of the Conference through three committees: Education to Mission, Sacred Heart Commission on Goals (SHCOG) and The Governance Committee. All committee members and the Head of Conference are appointed by the Provincial Team. The Conference aims to provide resources, opportunities, and avenues for thoughtful dialogue and discernment about the evolving mission of Sacred Heart education among trustees, heads, leadership teams, provincial team, and school communities.
