Fostering Just Communities

Our Call

In the midst of months of uncertainty, we are hearing the cries for justice we hear every day in our countries and within our school communities. We need to learn the truth of our past in order to foster just inclusive communities so that our future communities may be characterized by respect for the dignity and well-being of every person. We find both our mandate and our inspiration for our mission as learning communities of Christ's Heart in the Goals and Criteria. It is clear our mission as Sacred Heart School Schools calls us to renew and to strengthen our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and justice. We must fight institutional racism as we address our own implicit bias if we are to construct school communities reflective of Christ's attitudes of heart.

Schools of the Sacred Heart share in the educational mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart as articulated in the Goals and Criteria. The structure supporting Sacred Heart education in Canada and the United States includes the Conference of Sacred Heart Education and the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.  Together they provide services and programs to ensure vitality of mission for the member schools sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart.
