Roots That Give Us Wings

Roots is an opportunity for students in Sacred Heart schools to learn more about St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, who along with four other RSCJ brought the mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart to North America.
Students will experience tours, presentations, dialogue and reflection, and time for contemplation and relationship building. This program provides the experience of Goal IV - Building Community across the Network and encourages students to focus on how they may Cross Frontiers, like Philippine in their own schools and communities. Students will learn what binds us together as a Network while also sharing the unique elements of their own schools. This program is designed to be held near St. Charles, MO, home to the first Sacred Heart school in North America and the location of the Shrine of Philippine Duchesne.
Schools of the Sacred Heart share in the educational mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart as articulated in the Goals and Criteria. The structure supporting Sacred Heart education in Canada and the United States includes the Conference of Sacred Heart Education and the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.  Together they provide services and programs to ensure vitality of mission for the member schools sponsored by the Society of the Sacred Heart.
