A program for 7th through 12th grade teachers in Sacred Heart Schools. Targeted toward teachers of English, History/Social Studies, or Religion/Theology but all content areas are welcome - what is required is an open heart and an open mind. 
How do we educate ourselves and our students in such a time as this? Exploring the African-American and African-Caribbean Story in New Orleans as a lens to teaching and learning about racial reconciliation in our schools today...

Four days of exploration, learning, dialogue, prayer and...curriculum conversations. 

Co-sponsored by the RSCJ Duchesne House of Volunteers and the Network of Sacred Heart Schools. 

An experience of:
  • Simple communal living at Duchesne House in New Orleans
  • Visiting the Whitney Plantation
  • Gospel Music Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church
  • Time at the Musée de f.p.c (Museum of the Free People of Color)
  • Conversation and film at the Community Book Center
  • Exploring curriculum challenges and opportunities with Sacred Heart Colleagues 
$250 includes all expenses except transportation to and from New Orleans. 

Friday (evening) February 8th - Monday (noon) February 11th
Thursday (evening) April 25th - Monday (noon) April 29th

Each session is limited to approximately 12-14 participants and places are filled in order of registration.
