Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. The newly constructed Mater Center will be ready for occupancy in July 2021 and open for Stone Ridge students in August upon the start of the new school year. The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for staffing the front reception desk and managing visitors to the building; providing oversight of student and visitor use of the front lobby and cafe areas; ensuring that the building is ready for use each day by monitoring and reporting on the status of housekeeping or maintenance items; and, in the future, assisting in the scheduling and coordination of outside user groups renting rooms within the building.

Position responsibilities:

Oversee front lobby / entrance / reception area in Mater Center
Help design and implement visitor and related policies
Greet and register visitors, address questions
Answer phone (as needed)
Maintain order and safety among students and visitors

Help ensure that the Mater Center is a safe building for all who use it
Greet and screen visitors, as determined by the School’s visitor management policy
Take appropriate safety and security actions during drills and emergencies
Suggest and help implement improvements to any safety policies or procedures

Oversee the allocation of time and space in the Mater Center
Design (in coordination with others) and implement policies regarding the use of Mater Center facilities by students, employees, parents, visitors, and other groups
Be the point of contact for space reservations in the building

Act as a point-of-contact to the Facilities Department for issues in the Mater Center
Ensure that the building is in proper working order to start each school day
Ensure common areas remain tidy (e.g, that students pick up after themselves, reporting housekeeping issues as appropriate)
Assist building users in submitting work orders; follow up as needed
Coordinate with the Facilities Department, Manager of Events, and others, as needed, to facilitate the setup and execution of events in the Mater Center

Position requires the ability to:

Submit to pre-employment criminal history background check
