Job Title: Athletic Performance Coach

Full or Part Time: Full Time

Essential Job Functions

Works collaboratively with the Assistant Athletic Director Sports Performance to develop and oversee programs to maintain maximum health and performance of student athletes.
Responsible for developing and implementing programs and oversight of all necessary testing for various sports.
Collaborates well with the other members of the Athletic Performance staff, Sports Medicine staff, athletic administration, sport coaches and athletes.
Responsible for designing and implementing speed, mobility, strength and conditioning programs for specific sports.
Responsible for designing and implementing forms and processes used to track student athlete progress.
Responsible for supervising the development of athletic performance coaches and interns.
Responsible for ensuring that the fitness facilities are properly scheduled and staffed and the weight room equipment is properly maintained.
Responsible for ensuring that all rules and regulations of Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) are met and followed.

Full Position Description: Qualifications

A clear commitment to the educational philosophy of the school as articulated in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools and models professional behavior based in it.
B.S. or higher in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field. Masters degree strongly preferred.
Certification through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS), Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa-SCCC), National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-PES), and/or USAW Performance Coach.
Current first aid, CPR and AED certification.
A minimum of 2 years of experience working at the high school and/or intercollegiate level and working with both male and female athletes preferred.
Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills.
Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English; ability in Spanish strongly preferred.
Good organizational skills.
A minimum of 2 years of successful experience supervising and mentoring others in the workplace preferred.
Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with coaches and student-athletes.
Ability to work successfully and effectively with students and colleagues; willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the SHS community.
Working knowledge of computers and basic software programs.
Good role model and demonstrated excellent ethics.
Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
Must comply with all state vaccination requirements and show proof of vaccination including but not limited to COVID-19 or proof of eligibility for exemption.
Work primarily in a traditional climate controlled office environment.
Work in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Regular tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds.
The ability to lift heavy objects (50-100lbs) in the course of demonstrating, moving equipment and spotting athletes for safety is also required.
