Women in Leadership: Shikha Uberoi Bajpai '00 encourages Stuart girls to appreciate themselves and lead with integrity

Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart
Through the Women in Leadership Speaker Series, our students get to hear from prominent women leaders in a variety of fields. The series is offered through the National Center for Girls' Leadership at Stuart and was initiated in 2006 with the goal of educating girls, and those who mentor and support them, to qualities of "leadership for life." On Monday, November 19, Stuart girls were honored to meet alumna Shikha Uberoi Bajpai '00, who is vice president of Indi.com, owner of Impact Media 360 and a former professional tennis player. Shikha generously shared her experience and expertise as she worked with a peer leadership class, spent gouter speaking with the Upper School tennis team, had a private lunch with the Middle School tennis team, spoke with a group of Upper School and eighth grade girls, and gave a formal presentation to girls in grades 4-12 in the afternoon.
Shikha reflected on the foundation and values she developed while attending Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart. She encouraged girls to take up space, be heard, appreciate themselves, strive for excellence and to lead with integrity and strength. Click here for photos.

  • Bicentennial Closing Mass

    Sacred Heart Education USC
Our celebration of Philippine comes to a close this Sunday at the Celebration of the Feast of Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne and the Bicentennial Closing Mass in St. Louis will take place on Sunday, November 18 at 2:30 p.m. (CST). We are sharing this liturgy via live stream so our Sacred Heart family around the world may join in the celebration! A recording also will be available for 24 hours after the completion of the liturgy, on the same webpage.

We thank all who have made the Bicentennial year so rich with prayer and learning, with exploration and truth-telling, with new understanding and new relationships, with publications and holy cards, with sculpture and Flat Philippines. Special Thanks to Kathleen Hughes, RSCJ and Bicentennial Committee for their creative energetic leadership of our celebration. The International Service Day, the class plans and the many activities across the Network proved to be an ideal way to make Philippine and the mission of the Society better known throughout the world! Thank you.

St. Philomena School to partner with Network of Sacred Heart Schools

    Network of Sacred Heart Schools
I am delighted to share with you that the Leadership Team of the Faithful Companions of Jesus in the Americas  and the Board of Trustees of St. Philomena School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island have decided to apply for membership to the Network of Sacred Heart Schools. The school is a Catholic independent school in good standing in the Diocese of Providence. The FCJ know our sisters in various parts of the world. Venerable Marie Madeleine, the FCJ foundress, and St. Madeleine Sophie were contemporaries; both knew and worked with Fr. Joseph Varin. The motto of the FCJ and the school is Courage and Confidence. St. Philomena School belongs to the New England Association of Independent Schools and the school leaders know several Sacred Heart educators from across the Network.

Moving Towards Reconciliation: Conversations and Efforts about Race, Slavery and History Across the Network

    Bill Hobbs
Unquestionably, the issue of race and reconciliation is a topic that confronts and challenges our school communities today. It is not a new topic, and while it is national in scope, the reality and impact are felt in particular in the local context of each school community. For that reason, the Network of Sacred Heart Schools is working with the  Society of the Sacred Heart United States -- Canada Province to provide opportunities and resources for our school communities to understand the experience of racism broadly and locally.
